Looking at the split screen, there's not much difference between the live camera view on the left and the goggle view on the right, so I'd have to say the latency is very low. The Nvidia Shield is $200, and the lowest priced goggles are headplays at about $200. The Glyphs were $750, now selling for about $500. So unless you already have hdmi goggles laying around (like me) or need them for your other drones, you're probably better off waiting on the DJI goggles. Hopefully the price will be less than $500Nice
True, lots of interference from trees, etc. Mavic is almost as good as my other drones with signal boosters. I've flown this path 100s of times with my other drones (P4, Inspires, Matrice) so I know the territory. Also, I know how to get signal back by running up stairs to my house or guest house and aiming rc for clearer los if necessary. Actually flown over 15000 feet down RR tracks next to golf course with my Matrice. However, not advisable to fly without clear los unless you have contingency plan, like a Trackimo on board.what I want to know is how the hell did he not lose signal? there were loads of trees blocking LOS right from the get go, no wonder he was getting signal errors. Some folks amaze me and wonder why they get 'flyaways'

Why do you think you would have a fly away because you aren't LOS? You may lose uplink and controller input but that wouldn't cause it to fly off.what I want to know is how the hell did he not lose signal? there were loads of trees blocking LOS right from the get go, no wonder he was getting signal errors. I would not like to complicate Mavic system by adding one more transmitter.I'm thinking of using my good old fatshark FPV goggles in combination with a small mini transmitter camera combo (something like this: http://e2b.org/163)
I'll "tape" the combo on top of the Mavic. That is.. When I receive it :-/
OK, I think I have my best mount for the N Shield. Simply insert 2 ballpoint pens into the rc mounts for support, add velcro at top, and the Shield is solid mount. Tested fine for me, and goggles work excellent. View attachment 678View attachment 679View attachment 680
