Used the freewells for the first time this morning. Perfect fit for the Mini 4 Pro, used 16 and 32 during sunrise and just after, very nice. I got the set to have 128 which IMHO is necessary with the big aperture on this drone, 64 from DJI’s set didn’t cut it midday and 256 was too much.

they did indeed change it from the Mini 3 Pro, where you got a sub 249 battery in the box and the Fly More Combo came in a separate box and you could get it as a regular or Plus version... the Plus version had 2 of the extended batteries. DJI went back to the all in one Fly more option and now...

now that I see your example I feel something is wrong... I just shot this morning right into the sunrise and had no flare like that, perhaps a bit (and more than bigger cameras on the Mavic 3 series) but nothing even close to what your video has. I wonder if you should return it and give another...

Selling my Mini 3 Pro and already have the Mini 4 Pro. For me I *really* wanted native waypoint capability and having omnidirectional obstacle avoidance likely gives me the courage to fly closer to things than I did in the past opening up new shooting opportunities.

I think waypoints works best when not too close to terrain / objects. If you are further away the inaccuracies of the GPS location from multiple flights of the waypoints is well masked... if you are close its obvious the drone isn't exactly in the same position each time.

The Mini lineup has always suffered from more flare, my Mini 3 Pro and now Mini 4 Pro exhibit about the same amount which isn't surprising since it's the same camera. I still find the image quality excellent for *MY* tastes and purposes... I would clearly own the Air 3 (or even a Mavic 3 series)...

**** DJI just issued an update to the Mini 4 Pro that REMOVES the 120m restriction in Europe and simply pops up a warning saying you need to follow local laws. **** This is issue is fixed!!!!

Remote ID is turned on at ANY weight because of the way the system works, DJI choice. You will put out a remote ID signal with the Mini 4 Pro even at sub 249 weight. You don’t have to… but it will.

It’s for weight like you said. I think DJI had no choice other than to put less good stuff in it if they wanted a thicker plastic. Based on some videos of the Mini 4 Pro crashing the light weight and flexibility of the plastic seemingly makes it very break resistant… it just doesn’t feel as nice.

Only if size and weight matters to you. If it doesn’t I can’t imagine why you’d switch.

The googles all lack OA4 which is why they don’t function with the mini 4 pro. Same reason the original DJI RC doesn’t work wi the the mini 4 pro. Could DJi make them cross compatible with a firmware update? I don’t know but they haven’t with the Air 3 to date so I wouldn’t hold your breath...

I'm sure you are right... I bet this: all Mini 3 Pro batteries work in the Mini 4 Pro and all Mini 4 Pro batteries work in the Mini 3 Pro... the issue is with the "smaller" size batteries that enable these drones to be sub-249... it appears if you use the one from the Mini 3 Pro in the Mini 4...

ah... at least the battery works if you want to use the old one in the new Mini 4 Pro... it's just it won't still allow the drone to be below 249g despite being labeled that way. I thought they might have some firmware way of locking it out.

it does appear that the new "small" battery, the one that makes the drone weigh under 250g is NOT cross compatible with the similar battery from the Mini 3 Pro, unlike the larger battery (which appears the same as it ever was and takes both drones over 250g.) My thoughts were having it for a fly away as well as capturing screen recordings of the UI details of the flight for review (speeds, camera settings etc.) Bottom line is the feature is available and with the low cost of small capacity micro SD cards I figured why not...
