Hello, one of my viewers passed on to me a recovered Mavic Air.
I was able to power it on and fly without issue, although the gimbal won't tilt and it displays "Gimbal motor overload".
Not bad considering the last footage on it was from May 2018 and it was found on the roof of the Brisbane Law...
Thanks, I had two steps before I left.
First I checked this map which shows the populous areas in Japan. 地理院地図
Then I applied to Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Aviation Safety to fly in those areas which were in the red where I was planning to be...
The impression I got was that it was a smaller, cheaper Mavic with “possibly” worse camera.
We’ll know soon enough for sure but maybe anyone expecting a Mavic 2 with 1” sensor might be disappointed.
Perhaps DJI is seeing too much cannibalisation of the Phantom line?
I found it interesting that...
Just confirmed that the small flip drone was indeed the Tello, DJI will be selling it in store when available.
Also looks like that employee who leaked got reprimanded and DJI are told to keep their mouths shut.
I was the one who got that info from a DJI employee early December. I’m heading in there tomorrow and will ask the guy if the “flip drone” is the Tello.
Who knows, maybe he’ll spill the beans and show me what’s in the box behind the counter?
Just found out about a new DJI store & floor display at Indooroopilly Shopping Centre in Brisbane, Australia that opened last week.
The guys there seemed straight from DJI as one could barely speak English.
Not sure if the other guy was trolling or not but he couldn't help but share...

I've added this to the first post as well as putting it here to ensure any new pilots don't confuse the old rules with what is now in effect...
As of 18/10/17 CASA will enforce new rules for recreational flying.

I fly with all 3 and with the exception of low light I've never heard of anyone being able to tell the photos and videos apart between them. The higher resolution photos from the P4P & I2 are negated when working with multi-shot panoramas anyway.
That said The Inspire looks the business, the...
I'm flying in a close quarters situation soon (not people) and decided to get the Prop Cage setup for my Mavic.
I can see why they're no so common but I admit they do have their use.
Thought I'd share a few of my thoughts and tests in case anyone was interested.
I regularly fly with a Samsung...
I'm flying a "similar" event in Australia in 2 weeks so I can tell you that here (Australia), that video would get you a fine of at least $900

Depending on various sources it's either "slightly" brighter or the same brightness... either way the difference in brightness would be imperceivable by pretty much anyone. Considering the CrystalSky (standard) is over twice as bright technically but in use only slightly more visible in direct...
