That's unfortunate. :( I'll just have to get in touch with DJI and see what they can do and if necessary will have to keep sending it back to them until they get the problem sorted.

From this point it took another 3 days to have my replacement sent out. Mine has touched back down in the UK and is currently in Tamworth so I should hopefully get it tomorrow with a bit of luck.

You won't get an error with the old firmware as DJI didn't add any measures to check for ultrasonic module functionality. I did exactly the same, and it never made an iota of difference. Fortunately, I was sent a pre-paid UPS label by DJI when they opened a new case for me, so no shipping costs were involved. My drone was delivered to DJI in the Netherlands on Friday, so now just waiting to hear from them.
