In the next few weeks i'll be taking a weeks break skiing in the French Alps and aim to take the Mavic to play around with (following local rules of course) and being new to drones i'm not completely sure how frequently i'll using the drone also i don't want to have not packed something useful...

thanks Alabast, sorry you got flack for merely responding. I think the mod is neat idea and has got me thinking of other ways to mount a large-ish tablet without using some of the plastic/metal mounts on the market, after all this is meant to be a small and portable drone you can quickly deploy...

how much extra do the arms extend once the case is notched? possible to get and ipad air in there now? I quick google tells me a K1 is 221mm wide and an ipad air is 240mm

I didn't have a reservation, I went into the store before xmas and just left my name and number for either a fly more or less, I would suggest giving the store a call now and ask about buying one.

interesting, I must admit I didn't read the min spec by DJI, but my old iphone 5 (non s) seems to work perfectly. my ipad mini 1st gen however does not work, the Go app wont even allow an install.
