I'll report that a Mavic in Sport mode is pretty darn smooth-looking thanks to the gimbal.Very little movement noticeable when braking or accelerating. Turns seem really fast, but Sport is just a 33% faster version of regular no-OA flight with sharper acceleration and louder motor spin.

The thing is, the reason you see so many debates is that the "best" settings change by lighting, color balance, desired effect, and about a zillion other things. "Best" is probably going to change with each different area and lighting. My advice is to try both things, and whatever else you can...

I count to four once it's 30 feet up. So that saves you 6 seconds. Maybe more, but 4 works for me even if it's a little breezy up there.

Watch the back of your aircraft. When the rear light blinks rapidly green before settling to its slower green blink, its home point is set. I just count to 4 after I see "P_GPS" atop the screen, since I'm already in the habit of counting to 4 before flying off for the sake of precision landing...

I'm on .700 and had a lovely flight up to 400 feet and a half-mile out over a lake this morning. Used Litchi, not Go, and had a cellular connection to intenet, as proven by my latest flight log automagically appearing at airdata.com.

I haven't upgraded, and I flewthis morning without any problems that I could tell. Of course, I use Litchi and haven't opened Go 4 in over a month, so that may be a factor for all I know.

Whatever the case, I think I'll just stick with the .700 I'm on until something compels me otherwise. Best of luck on the latest DJI adventure, all those who've embarked upon it.

Litchi's worked fine for my Note 4 on firmwares .300, .400, .500, .550, .600, and .700. Your mileage may vary, apparently. The problems some firmware had with Litchi was only in certain flight modes, and .400, .600 and .700 are fine with all flight modes in Litchi, I believe. The more I read...
