    Can't get Fly to run

Thanks, I searched on YT and found a video about downloading from DJI -- I guess this is something to do with DJI not being a good neighbor as far as spying is concerned and getting shutdown in some ways. Brian

    Can't get Fly to run

I haven't flown or operated the Air 2 a more than a year being busy with other things and I attempted to check Fly to see if a new firmware was available. I first tried my tablet, a Samsung Galaxy Tab s7+ with Wifi and when I powered up the remote the tablet showed the circular indicator...

    Air 2 ICELAND VOLCANO Fagradalsfjall | Mavic air 2 & A7III

This volcano has been incredibly interesting to watch given the relative ease of approach and the fact that the authorities permit you to do so. Over the last 100 days it's evolved enormously and changed shape and character in significant ways. Your video was good though I am not a fan of the...

Anyone using the new iPad Pro with M1

Well I opted to go with the Samsung S7+ which is also too large for the tablet mount that DJI sells (resells) for it but I plan to modify the mount to make it work -- I received the tablet yesterday and the mount today. The mount it 10-12mm to narrow an opening to handle the S7+ but I plan to...

Anyone using the new iPad Pro with M1

I'm thinking about upgrading to the Air 2S and getting the new iPad Pro with M1 SOC, I know it SHOULD be compatible with Fly and Assistant but can anyone with the new iPad confirm this? North of $1K for a tablet that SHOULD work but doesn't is not something I want to experience. Brian

    Night Footage is BAD!!!

Important point, thanks for the input. Really, at f/2.8 with an image sensor that small the reasonable DOF will likely be much closer than a hundred feet, more like five feet or even less. So, unless you are flying in real close to inspect a bridge it's highly unlikely that at any more likely...

    Night Footage is BAD!!!

Actually, since the aperture is fixed at a very wide open f/2.8 the ISO doesn't have to be boosted relative to an aperture that's higher, say f/4.0. Most lenses for consumer grade stuff don't go much wider than f/2.8. Brian

iPad Pro with M1 chip and DJI Fly etc

See, that's the thing ... the iPad Pro 11" is 7.5" in width so you'd think it would fit in the DJI mount. They don't bother to list the dimensions of the holder in a way you might be able to measure your own tablet and know for sure. Listing it by what tabs work and what don't is stupid if...

iPad Pro with M1 chip and DJI Fly etc

Is there any idea what issues we can expect using an iPad Pro with the new M1 chip while using the DJI Fly app? I currently have the Air 2 and may upgrade to the Air 2S but I don't like flying with the smaller screen of my Samsung S20 phone and the older tablets I have are not compatible with...

Air 2 Fern's Nipple, an Awesome Desert Climb in the Stunning Capital Reef National Park Utah!

Major media companies with a longstanding reputation have flown drones in national parks before but the permit process is time consuming and expensive. You may be tempted to risk it but if you get caught as some people have the fines begin at a couple thousand dollars and go up from there --...

    MM - Red Canyon, Utah

I would recommend gaining some more control of exposure to avoid the over exposed segments in your video -- I shoot mostly in manual exposure mode to prevent the camera from changing exposure as I move. You might have a look at my video of the same area from early 2018 using a P4P. Brian

Did something stupid -- got away with it!

Yeah, I try to avoid having the battery at full charge for very long, ideally just a few hours, and when not in use I discharge or charge to about 50%. When on a trip lasting several days where I expect to fly every day I charge them top about 80% the night before then charge the first...

Drone crashed into plane in Netherlands today

As bcfd29 indicated, the photos lack any useful reference data that might make it easier to figure out what happened, but if the dent is more-or-less lengthwise along the fuselage that would almost 100% rule out a meteor strike of any kind -- the direction would have to have a significant...
