Set them to discharge after 3 days. It will probably take a week for a full battery to discharge to that state. It won't hurt the battery to let it discharge over the week period.
You should get about 300 cycles maintaining them this way.

I was going to mention that. You need to agree that you've taken the test before you can register your drone. So you basically need to lie in order to fly. The FAA deadline is close... so it will probably be at least another year.

If you want to know the right answer why not simply call the state park and ask about this? I suspect the insurance is only needed for commercial use/filming.
