Do I need a firmware update to use the new props? I’ve ordered some but I’ve kept my Mavic on old firmware prior to the NFZ update, downside is I don’t get the new modes etc, but I can fly it anywhere .

Cool, I've done a few flights in the area, till some snobby old woman came up to moan about me having a drone, even though it was nowhere near her.

I'll have to wait till payday to order mine.

Mine is outdated as I don't want to do the firmware update that limits flights depending on location. The really fun part is collecting flags; U.K. And Thailand so far, Italy to come next.

Ah, I had forgotten about that. I suppose I don't really need maps if it means I can fly unrestricted.

So if I've not seen the message does that mean I can avoid the update? I fly using my wifi only iPad and I put it in airplane mode before I fly, I had the app open yesterday and still didn't see the message.

That's why folding props are safer.

Are the metal arms on the antenna circular poles or flat bars? I might be able to bodge some together from bits at work. Just a note for fellow drone pilots in the U.K. You have to make sure your tx power isn't too high. I work with UHF & VHF but I'm not too up to speed on the higher freqs...

Have you got any of how it's installed? Is it modded to a battery, does it slot in between the connectors etc?
