Apple can get Mavic's fast

So just had a useless on-line chat with Apple Store support who had no information available beyond --"The system says it will ship by feb 7".

So-- how long did it take for people between the final (not pending) credit card charge hitting and the Mavic being available for in-store pickup. Still hoping for an Xmas miracle to get this under the tree.

The last batch of shipments folks were reporting 10 business days from order to ship notification. For me 12/8 order, that means I ought to see a status change tomorrow. Card charged last night

I just got off chat as well and they told me that it was prepared for shipment and that I would get an email "very soon" informing me of shipment.

These vague answers drive me nuts.

My 12/8 in-store pickup order charged my card yesterday. Really hope I can get it today or tomorrow, but I am not holding my breath.

Have any of the 12/7, 12/8, 12/9 orders who had their credit cards charged the last couple of days charged see any change in order status yet?

I actually spoke to the inventory specialist at the store that my 12/8 order is scheduled to go to and she said that the item did show as shipping, but showed that it wasn't on the receiving list for 12/23, 12/26, or 12/27. No Christmas miracle for me :(

12/7 and nada. Though I did receive my battery in about two days, the Mavic is MIA.

12/9 shipped to house still processing card has been charged..

My 12/12 order shows processing, the holding charge went away because it expired after 8 days. Apple told me that on their end, it showed preparing for shipment. He informed me that once they receive enough orders to buy pallets of these, they then place their order.

I'm at the Apple Store hopefully they have batteries.. they're checking now but definitely no drones in stock.

Placed my order 12/6 and has been in prepared for shipping for a week now. Still no shipping confirmation.

Just wanted to say... in Canada, the two most reliable place to get the mavic seems to be the Apple store and Amazon. so if you make anymore pre-orders those would be my suggestion

I'm wondering if Apple does this to make it harder to cancel the order. I called them and they told me that orders are normally not in this status for more than a week so I don't know what's going on.

I know that logistics can be more complex than we think sometimes. My guess is that Apple has them sitting on a pallet with labels waiting for FedEx or someone to figure out how they will ship the pallet to its destination. I'm sure all the logistics companies are overwhelmed at this time of year.
