Cancel and get a better deal later?

I ordered my drone early (on 10/06) thinking I would take it with me on vacation. Based on the recent shipping updates, I almost lost any hope that I will get it by 11/23. I'm thinking about cancelling the order so I can hopefully get a better deal in spring 2017. Do you think the price would drop by then?

The price will eventually drop next year at some point. It's inevitable as DJI continues to release new versions of their drones.

I think the demand for this thing will prevent a price drop anytime in the near future. Until they replace it with a "Mavic 2" or something better, it is going to be in demand. If anything, they are probably regretting not pricing it a bit higher.

DJI recently registered a "Mavic" aircraft with the FCC (see more details here), so a lower priced version of the current Mavic might available in the near future.
