Hello from Silver Spring, MD
Purchased Mavic yesterday 4/14 and a little flustered.
So far I have flown altitude-4' distance 5 yds, then I get the "NFZ" landing message.
I can't fly close to home. I see a couple suggested locations such as:
Gunpowder
Lochraven
but are these places drone friendly?
Any suggested sites close to Silver Spring would be appreciated.

Iv flown mine at a small park off of Georgia in Olney. Probably the closest place you can fly it

I love North Beach. I'm thinking of being there Friday. I'll bring the Mavic. Has the Farmers Market started yet?

I just flew at T. Howard Duckett Reservoir. App stated I was on the edge of NFZ. It let me fly! 10 minutes from the house, so I'm thinking this is the closest and will be my practice area. Not alot of open space, except over the water and I'm not ready for that.
