Dome causes to run hot?

Does the dome cause overheating issues? I've watched the @dronevalley video and he didn't do it right as far as I'm concerned.

What's the verdict?

After much research, I thought it was the generally accepted rule that you don't fly with the dome on.

I thought because it's clear, there maybe use cases for having it on, but after having my MP for a while, I really can't see a reason to fly with it on. If someone thinks it's practical in flight, I'd be genuinely interested in hearing why.

If it isn't meant to be used at all in flight, they should have made it opaque and not given it a rubber protection pad which seems intended to reduce scratches. Incidentally, my drone fell out of it's case which wasn't properly closed and I shattered my dome. It was the only damage, had to buy a new one, but I was so relieved that I had it in place, I would have destroyed the camera/gimbal.
