Forecast winds

Just found a nifty tool to look at forecast (surface) winds.

Just drag the date/time bar at the bottom to the date and time of interest.

Just found that on the right side you can do winds aloft as well !!!

The resolution of data is a little low for drone-flight-planning, but I have always loved this site:

earth :: a global map of wind, weather, and ocean conditions

I know that one - awesome - but for planning the other one is looking pretty f-ing good - even winds aloft.

Now if only all these lovely specialized map data tools could overlay on each other. I hate having to scroll to find the same spot in two or three different maps. Weather, NFZ Sectionals, DJI Go geo-fencing, satellite to look for power lines or other hazards, terrain to look for signal occlusion, ...

Nice find! I was using Weather Forecast Maps for similar info (and a lot more), but i like that windytv is an app.

Yes, i use that all the time for current conditions.

Windytv looks fantastic. I always found windmapper.com interesting but it looks ancient compared to windytv. Plus windmapper has very limited regions of usefulness. Well, unless you're in the continental US, which I'm not.

Great find, I must check UAVforecast, IOS weather app, like a dozen times a day, checking nearby areas, since I travel a lot while working, now I can see the big picture!
