What's up Mavic community - heading to the above mentioned cities TOMORROW. Any advise on bringing my mavic?

Hi
In Russian you need a permission, In Estonia and in Sweden a name tag and common sense is OK..if you fly on countryside or non crowded areas.

"General Russia Drone Laws

Drone use is allowed in Russia, but there are several Russian drone laws that need to be followed when flying in the country. Operators must ensure that they follow the following laws when flying in Russia,

  • You must register any drone weighing over 250 grams (0.55lb) with the Transport agency. Contact information for the transport agency is listed at the bottom of this page
  • You must have a pilot and a watcher for each flight. The watcher stands by and monitors the flight.
  • You must create a flight plan and submit it to the Transport agency ahead of each drone flight. A flight plan should include the model of the drone you are using, the purpose of the flight, time you are flying and area you intend to fly in
  • Do not fly your drone over people or large crowds
  • Respect others privacy when flying your drone
  • Do not fly your drone over military installations, power plants, or any areas that could cause concern from local authorities
  • You must fly during daylight hours and only fly in good weather conditions
  • Do not fly your drone near airports or in any area were aircraft are operating"

Sweden - a bad translation by Google - You need permission in cities and public places.

Estonia follows the European Union basic rules - rather liberal...Like in my home country Finland. Use common sense and do not fly over people.

I think drones with cameras for recreation have been outlawed in Sweden - completely! Google it.
Shame because it's a beautiful place.

Thanks for much for the help. Do you think there is any risk of getting the drone confiscated at customs? I've tried to register my drone in but the site in completely in Russian so I was unable to do so.

Thanks for your help.

Sweden is almost as beautiful as Finland ;) In both of these countries you can fly a drone with a common sense.

Russia is bit of a tough cookie. They have lot of rules and regulations, forms ext: at the border you have to declare everything, Phones, cameras, tripods, batteries, The main principle is - everything you import to Russia you have to take it with you when you leave. Lot of forms, stamps and Cyrillic alphabets. Younger officers can speak English and they can help you with the forms....lots of stamps and lot of time. Be patient.

"Do you think there is any risk of getting the drone confiscated at customs?" Not in Sweden not in Estonia, but Russia is big question mark. Maybe you can contact your local Russian embassy and ask them about drones.

The drones are not illegal in Russia - You need permission to shoot footage / use the drone.

Swedish like we Fins hold on to our privacy. Do not hover over houses or private property. There are lot of unpopulated areas, forests, lakes, fealds - Ques it's OK to fly.... When/if you take off near by police car in market square you defenately need some kind of permission.
