How do you reset the little GPS screen in left corner?

Might be a dumb question but the little gps in the corner left changes sometime and I don't know why. Sometimes it just has the drone triangle in the middle and sometimes it has a line where the drone went(so you can follow it back). Doesn't anybody know how to make it have route line all the time?

In the upper right of the lower left indicator is a tiny button you can push to change from radar view to map view and back.
