First drone is my new Mavic Pro. Have been reading a lot and watching a lot of tutorial videos from You Tube. Any other suggestions before I try flying more than just up and down?

Looks like you did all your homework in advance, thus you should be fine.

Do not try to do handcatch landing on a moving boat if waves are more than 1 meter in height on a first day. Leave it for tomorrow.
Kidding.
It is my first drone too. It is an awesome peace of equipment which can make you really confident in your pilot skills pretty soon. Just don't do ridiculous things untill you really get to know it.

Take it slow and get a good feel for the joysticks. after try out some of the intelligent flight modes (activtrak, POI, etc.) get used to making smooth moves with the sticks.
