just taking off is a risk lol, I dont hate my Mavic but................His post suggests he likes his Mavic too much to make it take such risks...

You could always give it a go indoors.

i am not gonna leave it in the bag for months either, i live in a country that loves rain.
I have flown in drizzles and light rain on numerous occasions. I cover sporting events for broadcast television. I know DJI dont recommend it, but when i need the shot i go for it. I wont fly in torrential downpours, but i have never had issues
yea why not lol i have seen it doen a few times i dont think it will be good long term for the drone but that is why i brought a spare lolPlease elaborate.. give it a go what? a fly in the rain? HAHA
You'd need to get through them first, and then there's always that little detail of landing afterwards. But overall great idea. You just need to attach a diesel generator to the Mavic so it can sustain itself that long.Maybe fly above the clouds then it wont get wet
