This question is going to show how much I don't know about the concept of how drones fly but Im traveling to Iceland from the US and wanted to know if a data plan was needed or if the drone flies completely off the occusync? I asked a friend of mine who has a P3 pro and said that when calibrating outside the US he needed to use his data plan.. He was also a new drone flyer so maybe he really didn't need the data on? I'm hoping just the DJI app and good satellite signal is all that is needed. Thanks for any advice!

You only need a data plan if you want to download maps, and you haven't got a wifi connection.

You may want to check the regulations for Iceland....I'm not certain, but I think in some areas you need official permission to fly.

Nice, Ill download any maps when I find wifi there. I took a look at the regulations and from what I saw on the DJI sight there were no restrictions anywhere in Iceland.
