Flying the Mavic to test the range, I guess I picked the worst place to do so.
It completely ran out of batter 275 meters from the shore, after a 3KM run... : (

The place is Meydenbauer Beach Park, 98th Avenue Northeast, Bellevue, WA

I sent out my other phantom drone out to try to search for it, hoping it would float after landing on water. After two batteries, nothing. Not a trace on the surface of the lake. Apparently they do not float at all.

It's pretty hopeless at this point. but I'm just leaving a post here just in case if anyone is in the area and found one washed ashore.

Attached are the flight path and the last picture it took on the SD card... T T.

Sorry to here about your loss. :( I'm certain if the MP hit the water, she isn't going to float. Did the battery indication give you a false positive at some point during your flight, or do you think you just pushed the limit a bit and miss judged the data and didn't return home when you should have?

I believe they don't cover loss. They cover water damage.

Also no surprise they don't float.

aw, sorry:oops: They don't cover fly aways either. One guy tried to follow his Mavic as he ran behind it screaming. It was never seen again
