Mavic crash [emoji15]

Flying my Mavic today, whilst trying to land the bird lost control and started to spiral out of control. First time it's ever happened. I had no control at all and it crashed landed.

The camera took a knock and now it says gimbal vibration.

Anyone else have a similar issue?

Basically I went up in the air, quite high took a few pics, when trying to come down just as it got in view with started spiraling out of control until it crashed into my car and then land a few feet away.

I see you got a compass error shortly after taking off. Did you ever calibrate your compass? If so, where exactly did you last do it?

I've got that message a couple of times now.

Tonight after the Mavic had it's crash landing, calibrated it again and it worked fine.

Is that why?

No, I calibrated it a couple of times.

Last time I think was 2 days ago.

Where did you last calibrate it prior to your crash?

Were there any magnetic metal objects near your Mavic?

If I'm honest I don't know. Perhaps.

Maybe from the ground, steel in concrete.

That's most likely what caused your issue then. You can find some good pointers on calibrating the compass here.

I noticed after the crash I was fairly close by to a mobile phone signal tower, would that effect the compass?

Does anyone think it might have been that vortex ring thing that happened? Supposedly happens to drones and copters when descending quickly

VRS doesn't produce a toilet bowl like swirling as shown in the log above.

I had the same problem. I also calibrated compass in garden and it still did it. I recalibrate in open field and been fine since.
Please look at

was this the same issue? This is my actual screenshot of what happened
