Older iPad

My Mavic is finally on its way so I was preparing an older iPad to dedicate to the Mavic. I updated the software to version 9.3.5 and then tried to install the DJI Go 4 app. Every time I tried it would display a message stating that my device could not support the app. I then tried and was successful at down loading the DJI Go app. My questions are why can't I download the DJI Go 4 app and will I be all right just using the DJI Go app? Thanks

The device is no longer supported. I tried downloading the Go 4 app on my IPad Mini 1. No longer supported. It downloads and runs on my IPad Air and IPad Mini 4.

There is a list somewhere that lists which tablets are supported.

I've only flown my Mavic using the "4" app. So don't know if it is possible or what the consequences are of flying on the older DJI Go app..
