IMO it was worth it before the addition of the water damage so this is a nice bit of extra cover

Only if it is deeper than 100', I think that is how much line is on the float of the geterback, not sure. By buddy had a reel fall into 65' of water and the float popped up after a minute or two, just picked up the float and pulled in the line and he had his $300 reel & pole back. Some Pilots who fly over the water a lot use them, mostly on Phantoms. And I am a diver

I fly mine and don't worry about it at all. Even before the addition I was happy to have it.
