I'm ready to register the Mavic but wanted to know if I should register with the FAA as model or non.

I'm Part 107 and I fly my employeer drones. I just purchase Mavic for myself and don't plan on using it for business use. So if I register with FAA as Non-Model do I always have to fly under Part 107 rules? And vise versa. If I register as model, can I fly under Part 107 if I decide to do side jobs with it?

I would say neither. If you already have 107, that is you not the drone you fly. Just put your FAA # that you use on your drone. Your employer would still only be liable when you are flying his at work.

Should I register the drone both ways or you can't do that.

Register yours not commercial if not using it commercially. Your only restriction being 107 is that as hobbyist you still cannot fly at night. I suspect this will change.

Good Luck!
