Samsung Galaxy S8 (Screen Brightness) > CrystalSky

In both cases the real test is going to be how long they can run at the maximum brightness without overheating and without depleting the battery...

... and of course brightness isn't the only factor to consider when it comes to usability in bright sunlight.

Oled allows peak brightness only for a short period of time and in a small window. Don't expect 1000 nits on the whole screen rather them on a small sqiare equal 10% of the screen.

Huh? Please give a link that shows this theory of only a small square / 10 percent of screen.

And probably it will ship with Android 7, which is a real showstopper.
CrystalSky = Android, plus Android 7 wasn't the problem, DJI had to update their app for it, which happens virtually everytime there is a major Android Update

Screen reflection, contrast, and of course the impact of any screen protector you use...

The headline numbers are good on the S8 and they are also good on the Crystalsky, we just have to wait and see what the real impact is in actual use.

Just being cautious as there is a world of difference between a screen that can hit 1000 nits for a while vs one that can stay there all day.

Not saying the S8 can't, but typically the brightest setting you can actually select is below the maximum it can hit under 'automatic' control as they don't usually want to let the owner crank it up to the max and leave it there...

So has anyone (or can anyone) who has both together test and see?

TIA!

Can litchi run on both of them?
Don't quote me on this but apparently the crystalsky is a stand-alone at this time.
Meaning it comes with a go4 app already installed that somehow differs from the ones found in google play and it won't accept "any" 3rd party apps.
My primary concern in regards to the C.sky at this point is whether or not it'll perform flawlessly as it should when paired with an RC and AC that employs an earlier version of firmware.
