So, anything I should know about Sport mode other than that it flies faster and turns off the obstacle avoidance?

I didn't think I'd need it for much, but it sounds like it's the best option to overcome wind and to get 'er home when sunlight is causing sensor issues.

I had it out in some steady wind yesterday that was just above the threshold when gusts would come up. Couldn't hold station so I had to keep my eye on it and adjust accordingly. Thus, I didn't get to send it away from me. I was thinking with Sport mode, it would be more able to hold position as it can use more throttle. True?

Thanks for any advice.

It'll take longer for the Mavic to come to a stop. Test it out above all trees and other obstacles so you can safely test it out until you understand how it works.

No. It might help you fly faster into a strong headwind though.

Thanks! That's good to know...
More stopping distance.
No better at autonomous flight in wind.
