Storm timelapse over Troyes, France

Almost lost the Mavic on this one. I ignored the wind warnings and let it drift while it was supposed to hover. I faced strong headwinds on the way back. I had to fly it as low as possible to protect it from higher winds so I couldn't use RTH altitude. To make things worse DJI Go froze my phone while it was closing in. I landed it with 11% battery left. Phew! Moral of the story, don't get overconfident.

Still worth it!

Completely forgot about Sports mode. Never tried it. Would it have made a difference?

Yes check out this thread. Sport mode will get you back if you are fighting a strong headwind:

Too funny, the drifting. I thought it was a planned effect. The result was great!
