What does the little phone jack do on the corner of the DJI battery hub do?

Not tried to connect it to DJI app on my laptop yet.
Just curious....
it's located under a rubber cover on corner of charging hub..

I believe it is for future updates or maybe to update battery firmware - I tried to connect it to DJI assistant but no luck

I see. Must be more to it than a basic resistor based charging hub? Who new?
So at present it serves no purpose than for potential firmware updates...
least I know why there's a connection there that appears to do nothing.. I had thought it might be for charging controller from the hub say when using the car charger with no USB ports, I use a Maplin power pack for that when out and about.
