Correct. UK is not EU jurisdiction. You'll have to register with the CAA and take the on-line test, after which you put your GBR-OP registration sticker on your drone. It'll cost you the dollar equivalent to £12. -

Why is the law on his side? He's using goggles without a spotter. That's a criminal offence. Fine of up to a few thousand pounds and a criminal record that can mess up other things in life is worth a chance? Why not just comply with the law...
