Wow! I was considering cancelling my Amazon UK order, after that "we have no idea when it'll ship" email I got the other day. Maybe I won't :) When did you order on there?

I visited a bunch of them in London -- most had never even heard of the Mavic, let alone having some in stock. Might do another run around them this week though.

I placed an order, just for kicks. Hey, they don't charge till they ship -- so, can't hurt, just in case they're right :) Order state is "not processed" though, and it does say "Subject to order acceptance". So probably something will go wrong.

Yeah, I asked each time if they had any in the back, but the answer was always no. I suspect they just haven't got to Apple here yet.

I visited three in London yesterday (before running out to Selfridges) -- the flagship in Regent Street looked up the Mavic on their inventory system and told me no stores in London had any stock. Covent Garden and White City didn't even have it in their internal inventory to say "out of stock"...

I can top that -- yesterday I wrote a script to poll the Apple availability API for London periodically, check the storePickupQuote value, then email me if it changes. It seemed pretty clever to me yesterday, but I woke up this morning to find notifications for every Apple store as their dates...

If only I'd been so lucky :(
