My 6 year old Granddaughter tried my RE goggles direct quotation from her “ Grandpa I’m really flying” I think this sums up the goggles experience very nicely.
I have a mavic pro, a mavic 2 Zoom and goggles RE. I still use my mavic pro as the goggles don’t work with the zoom. I also like the fixed wing mode which the zoom doesn’t have. Like you I have seriously considered buying another mavic pro but I am waiting for the price to come down more as I...
It’s quieter has a better camera and just seems better made. The biggest game changer for me is the waypoint mission feature that you can plan at home before going out. I have kept my Mavic Pro and still fly it with goggles in fixed wing mode ( you can’t do that with the Zoom)
I have kept my Mavic Pro and still use it as it works with my goggles Racing edition where as the mavic zoom doesn’t also it has fixed wing mode, great with the goggles. I once sent my Mavic Pro on a suicide mission 15000 feet out over the ocean and it came back and landed next to my feet so...
Same for me mine was at 200 feet height straight out over the ocean. I brought it back on return to home. Didn’t once use sports mode and arrived home with 30% battery.
it's all to do with location. I flew my mavic from the beach on Thursday. Near the beach there are many hotels so a lot of wifi interference. I went straight out over the sea and at 2.4 miles I still had 3 bars of signal on the remote and full streaming video. I have an old samsung J1 phone...

Thanks for that great response. I can confirm from my experiments on long distance flights that sports mode top speed eats the battery and my best results have been in p mode full throttle usually 28 mph. Great to see the science behind it.
Yesterday I flew 2 10000 feet flights the first full speed in p mode the second at full speed in sports mode in the sports mode flight I came home with 25 percent battery in p mode 38 percent. I got several high wind velocity warnings. I think the sweet speed for distance in about 20 mph.
I have been trying out different speeds on cross country flights and I am still of the opinion that p mode full speed is the most efficient. I always fly the first leg into wind . I guess my PPL and glider pilots license taught me to do that. Flying my Cessna 150 at full throttle also burns fuel...
I am also a phantom 3 standard and mavic owner. I have just put my phantom 3 on ebay but it wasnt easy to do. The mavic far outperforms the phantom 3 so I persuaded myself that if I sold my Phantom 3 I could buy another mavic battery. That was the clincher for me. I have had my mavic out 7500...
