After getting home and doing some research. It seems that you are only running wi-fi if using thr phone by it's self. I was using the controler at the time so im thinking it was not a wi-fi connection issue.

Go to the dji go4 home top right corner for Android its three bars may be three dots for iphone. Click on it go to off line maps pick your reagon and then the down load button to the right. I use Android. It may be a little different for iphone. If you still have trouble serch for it on you...

I had an old galaxy s5 in the drawer pulled it out did a factory reset and only installed the dji go4 app. No issues so far. Knock on wood!

Thanks guys Yes the csc is what i was concerned about. I couldn't see any reason why the sticks would be positioned that way while making a turn however just wanted to make sure that turning in this manner could be done safely.
