But is the frequency used by Marco Polo allowed in EU? On their website it says "Once tracking mode is activated by the locator, the Marco Polo system operates by using frequency hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) on 50 frequencies between 902.5 and 906.5 Mhz.". That is licensed mobile phone...
Drone batteries always in hand luggage (almost all airlines require this). Drone in checked luggage on airlines who prohibit drones in hand luggage (not uncommon) otherwise I try to fit everything in carry on.
+ Rugged
+ Stable software (yes)
+ Compact compared to RC+CS+mount
+ Super convenient with one unit to pick up and start instead of mounting things together and starting them
+ Same excellent screen as CS
+ Excellent ergonomics
+ Charges with USB instead of special battery charger and cradle

Are you sure you are putting the correct propellers on the correct motors? The are two kinds of propellers made to rotate in different directions. Two are marked in the center which matches up with marks on the intended motors.

If I understood you correctly you have stability problems with the new firmware and want to downgrade? It should be possible to downgrade with the DJI...
I use a HTC U11 when I don't use my CS and it works well. No stability problems.
I have used the HTC One M8 and M9 too and if I remember correctly both worked well. But it was with earlier versions of GO 4. I have not tried with recent ones.
Sorry, you will be better off carrying extra drone batteries than carrying a solar panel. Larger portable solar panels work quite OK during the summer in the Nordics for charging mobile phones and so on. But large drone batteries, no. It will be very slow.
What's the weather/temperature forecast? Something like 0 to -5C?
Keep the batteries in an inside pocket on your coat. When starting, let it hover a few minutes at low altitude to let it get warmed up and check it's OK.
Do you mean built-in battery, button placement, faster CPU and newer Android-version? Is there anything else?
Personally I think the replaceable battery on the current CS is great. Faster CPU would be nice but I don't have problems with the performance of the current CS.
As others already have written it is no problem as long as you keep the FC batteries warm. I store them in my coats inside pocket until the minute I'll fly. And I let the FC hover a minute or two at low altitude before starting the mission. This works well in below 0 C temps.

The Crystalsky monitors works perfectly with the Mavic Air. I use that combination all the time.
But you have to buy a separate charger adapter as the one which comes with the Air does not work with the CS battery charger hub (this is probably the reason DJI talks about it being incompatible)...
I have a CS 5.5 for my Mavic Air and I'm very happy with it.
+ Great screen
+ Stable Go app
+ Battery long lasting and replaceable during a flying session
+ Possible to use with several drone models
- A bit bulky with RC and mount
- Takes time to mount the stuff together
- Battery needs a...
