Excellent video, I guess people have a short attention span. I used to make long videos of my paragliding flights, along with videos using my Mavic Pro, it seemed no one would watch them if they were over 2 minutes long.

I think the FAA sees $$$$, it is not especially concerned with safety. Imagine if this invasion of privacy took place with cars, every time you started the engine you lit up an icon on a law enforcement screen, then the police would be called for anyone breaking even the slightest rules...

I am still at a loss as to what kind of retrofitting can be done to a homebuilt using Naza M controllers that currently have no data output, or at least has not been connected to a data link transmitter.

I am hoping that is the reason for this. I'm sure it is something that will be used actively for commercial drones, UPS, etc., but for hobbyists, it will be used for enforcement for those breaking the rules.

First, what kind of transmitter is the FAA planning to have us purchase to add to the drones that we currently fly? Secondly, who is going to be monitoring our flights? Will there be a dedicated person sitting there watching for each and every occasional drone flight that might pop up for 15...

I had a similar experience with my Mavic pro last weekend. I was right at the edge of restricted airspace, the national seashore in MA. I had trouble connecting with the Mavic, disconnections while flying (outside of the restricted) just wanted to go straight up and down for s shot of the house...

Lithium batteries will swell up as they reach the end of their life. Even my laptop began to swell at the time it didn't want to maintain a charge for very long. All the batteries I used to use for my homebuilt drones eventually became swollen, then I knew they weren't long for this world.

I use RTH all the time, especially if I am not flying using Litchi. You can definitely trust it. I have only had one glitch, as my Mavic approached the landing, maybe 8ft alt, the Mavic suddenly flew horizontally towards some trees, until I stopped it. Other than that it works.
