What bothers me about this whole remote ID requirement is they will be watching you for potential violations to the regulations, and making you pay a fee for it! I see many part 107 operators going out of business over this proposal if it is allowed to go through. I guess my MPP will be nothing...
Your density altitude was probably the problem. Other factors that play into the altitude limit are temperature and humidity and when factored in create a higher density altitude. This is the altitude all aircraft and humans too experience. Thinner air means propellers have to spin faster to...
The school offers a FAA107 class for $1100.
What?!!! ?
Do you get a nice drone to take home at the end of the course?
Nah, your probably buying the school owner his next drone.
Do you use the LAANC system? Check it out. Create a flight for sometime around two hours after sunset. Submit your flight and it will tell you that you “Rules you are violating- Do Not Fly at Night.” It tells you that for a reason. The FAA helped AirMap and the other LAANC companies understand...
I hope you filed a police report. Give the the serial numbers of the equipment and they will file them in the system as stolen. Good pawn shops will check to see if equipment is stolen and will usually notify authorities if someone is trying to pawn it to them.
I hope you get it all back.
Good point! I guess that would prevent one from launching and walking into the park.
I wonder....Do they allow kite flying in that park? Probably not.
Seems like the California governmental bodies want control over anything people do while outside of their homes.
Takeoff from a public sidewalk just outside the park and make sure the home point updates there. Then walk into the park while flying your Mavic air and they can’t say anything because you didn’t launch in the park. Then when your Mavic air needs to land send it to the home point. ?
Watching the news last night from Cincinnati they said the drone collided with the helicopter, and that had to make an emergency landing. They had video of the officers looking over the helicopter in the dark. Did this also happen at night? I wonder if they were glorifying the story to make it...
Um, no it’s not! I live in KY and it is illegal under state and federal law to shoot at an aircraft. That would be like saying it’s legal to shoot at a helicopter hovering over your property at 200 feet, and a sUAS is an aircraft.
The most the property owner can do legally is call the FAA or...
150 degree radial from EWN at 13.3 NM (Nautical Miles). That point is the center of the 10 mile ring. The NKT is just the FAA identifying the Cherry Point air base where the operation is occurring.
Hello rustysteel,
Welcome to the forum! I would suggest getting your part 107 certificate. It allows you to make money with your drone and opens up a lot of places for you to fly. The FAA has just come out with new regulations for hobbyists flying drones and it is limiting.
After you get your...
