Navy Pier Chicago Illegal to Fly? I got assaulted there for not showing my ID to a security guard there.

When I flew Navy Pier and Grant Park for this video in September of 2021, I didn't have a problem. That said, I launched from the top of a hill in the park circled in red simply because I was away from the people and had a better LOS down the length. So I wasn't in an area where I was going to...

2 Pro Piedmont Park, Atlanta, GA (4k video to music)

Yeah, that was one of my goals was to try to get both. After all, it is an "urban park" of sorts. The only thing that bugged me about it was that the skyline was a little backlit. Would have been a better shoot in the morning.

2 Pro Piedmont Park, Atlanta, GA (4k video to music)

Piedmont Park is an urban park in Atlanta, Georgia, located about 1 mile (1.6 km) northeast of downtown. We filmed it in mid-November and couldn't help but wonder what it looks like during the spring, summer, or even just a month before this when the leaves would be colorful. Filmed with: Mavic...

2 Pro Chicago River, Chicago, IL (4k)

Shot over 2 days in September, we flew the Chicago River to get spectacular views of the Riverwalk and the iconic architecture that flanks this famous waterway.

2 Pro Downtown Ft. Lauderdale, FL (4k)

Shot in a stretch of only about a 1/4 mile along the New River, Fort Lauderdale downtown is an odd mix of a clean modern city... that also happens to have parallel parking for yachts. As was the theme with my video of nearby Las Olas Beach from the same day, I wish I had been able to get more...

2 Pro Las Olas Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, FL (4k video)

Shot on an early February afternoon in 2022, Las Olas Beach is a destination on the Atlantic coast of Florida in Ft. Lauderdale. There are also miles of neighborhoods with canals cut into them with the yachts and other boats stored like parallel parking on a street. (I had to cancel my day 2 of...

Checked it out. Good work. As mentioned, I wish I had been able to pull off more launch points while I was there. Oh well.

The flying is one thing, but I don't screw around with my video production! Thanks for the compliment in that regard.

2 Pro Chicago Lakefront, Grant Park, and Navy Pier (4K)

"Over people" and "around downtown Chicago" are two different things. Obviously, hovering over a concert at Millennium Park would be frowned upon. But there is nothings saying that I can't fly around where I did. Chris Biela and Tom from TAPP Channel are both based in Chicago and have flown...

I agree... with Flight Simulator 2 as the first thing I bought for my Apple 2c back in the 80s, Meigs was kind of a staple. But, as a drone pilot, if it was still there, I wouldn't have been able to get these shots, right?

2 Pro Chicago Lakefront, Grant Park, and Navy Pier (4K)

Filmed over the course of two days from Grant Park and near Navy Pier in Chicago. I wanted to add a 3rd day to launch from down by the museum district and Solider Field, but the Bears were playing on Sunday (and I was there!) so there was the usual TFR, and Monday was not conducive to flying...

Good eye... I had that clip slowed down to 76% to get it to fit right in the music edit. Many of us that meticulously edit to music will change a speed a bit if simply editing the clip itself won't do it. Slowing down -- especially at an odd rate -- makes it more jittery than speeding it up.

Fair enough, but many of us find the shameless ripping off of our content distracting, especially with the work we put into it. Tom at TAPP Channel does it. Chris Biela at Primo Media does it. Open Range Studios does it. Kalucci does it. Most of us do. That said, I am often struggling to find...
