I think it's been proven that the Mavic will fly well above it's "max" altitude of 16400ft. I remember seeing this story awhile back.

Yup, that mount should work great. I use it with my Galaxy S8 which has almost no bezels due to the screen curving around the sides of the phone. I can leave my case on the phone and it holds it perfectly, it works very well.
I assume you purchased the app through through google play store? If that's the case you should be able to just redownload it after your factory reset.
I like UAV forecast app on android to get a lot of that info. I like how it gives wind speeds for any altitude you enter also. Wind speed can be significantly different at 300 ft vs ground level.
