I shoot in 4k almost all the time. Occasionally 2.7k. For some reason 1080p on my mavic just looks like rubbish.

Haven't tried myself. After the first few rubbish 1080p videos I just stuck to 4K. I'll take a look in the next few days once weather clears up and see if it's better on my end.

Just out of curiosity, if you're not running iOS, what are you running on your phone? It definitely sounds ds like a hardware problem. I've been using my iPhone 6s with my mavic and no issues at all.

I do my best to keep it within VLOS if I am even remotely near people or buildings. But if I look away to look at my screen, its easy to lose sight of the drone. If I'm out in a remote location then I'll fly beyond VLOS to get the shot I want want. Eg. Full mountain view and these are often...

It's quite odd and I agree that being the same hardware, you would expect the same results. I have since tried the S8+ again with the Mavic and so far so good!

Funnily enough my experience is the opposite. I only ha e issues with the S8+ but not my 6S+. The only reason I still keep my iPhone is purely for the Mavic. I have much more faith in flying with the 6S+ than the S8+
