Very cool story. Where I live we have a lot of birds of prey around and I'm always worried about one of them taking offense to my drone. So far it hasn't happened - but you never know when it will. My whole plan revolves around "UP UP UP" and then "HOME HOME HOME" before anything bad happens...

I've been bracing the controller with my stomach and swiping down (since the controller is then sideways). As long as I've got one hand on the outside and the controller against my body, it doesn't feel like it'll fall. Once the drone is in the air, I can resume normal control.

I was up around 250' ... watching the 'event' - it happened during a sweeping turn. One moment I had a clear picture of the ground and trees below, the next moment the ground and trees were blurry. Even as I came down and there were other objects to focus on, the camera didn't focus.

Unfortunately, no. My visual focus was on the drone itself since I couldn't see much on the screen. It was only on reviewing the footage that I noticed it went from crystal-clear video to blurry video in one turn.

Does turning this off have any effect on video quality? I disabled this yesterday before flying and had one of the 4GB segments I took stutter a few times - which has never happened with the cache on. I'm not sure if it was turning that off or some other factor.

In re-watching the videos, that was what I was doing wrong. For some reason I was expecting to be able to reach up and hold it. The jump away confused me.

I tried this last night, but my M2 Zoom kept "jumping" away from my hand as I reached up for it. It didn't seem right to pull down and try to force it down without knowing for sure that my hand was exactly where it needed to be. I'll have to watch more video demos of this today.
