Have you walked your flight path as others have suggested? Certainly you were out of VLOS... but somewhere in the trees of your flight path is probably where you will find your Mavic.

So are there benefits to having a 107 license for hobbyists over just flying as a hobbyist? I’m interested in using the Mavic as a soft side hustle... don’t have the energy to start a full on gig, but are there other things having this will allow me to do besides bill for flying?

My trip was great. I wish I spent more time flying than I did, but with my wife and 2 kids (10 & 13), my parents, and my inlaws, I just didn't have enough me time to do all the flying in all the places I wanted.

Don't have the box, but it was in the electronics cord. It's the same build as the original cord, same male end, though it's a few feet longer. Marketed as a "longer replacement cord" for several electronic devices (apple tv, etc) and was $8.41.

Found a replacement. Let me tell you, Kauai is not a major island, but the one Walmart on the island had a replacement cord that is longer and works swimmingly. Thanks all!
