    Drone Insurance in the U.K.

I'm insured with FlyIcarus via FPV UK. At least I was... according to FlyIcarus Drone Insurance they are moving insurers and the website is just a holding page. Doesn't inspire confidence!

Mavic air - loss of control when connecting to GPS - loss of drone in the sea

One of the most basic and most frequently repeated pieces of advice is to wait for sufficient GPS satellites AND ensure that homepoint is recorded BEFORE takeoff. Without GPS the drone will drift and needs an experienced operator to control it.

    BBC 2 tonight 9-30

The earlier Panorama programme specifically about the Gatwick disruption was more balanced and dealt with the fact that there was no actual proof of the existence a drone, just "sightings". No photos, video or any other evidence. Last night's programme started with the assumption that a drone...

Mavic Air Camera button (on controller)

If the drone isn't in still shot mode (e.g. you're in video mode) then one press will just switch modes. You then need to press again to take a shot. I think the screen "blinks" to show you a picture has been taken.

    Master Airscrew

I was also charged the same amount. MAS are following the letter of the law in stating the price of the goods on the customs sticker. The price just about exceeds the import tax limit. Some sellers will play the game by reducing the amount or declaring the contents as "a gift". Can't really...

    Mavic Air pictures quality

I suspect you're also watching the cached video rather than extracting the "real" video from the SD card (or onboard storage).

Can I use a 12V DC power supply to charge Mavic air batteries?

Ha ha! Yes indeed! We usually travel to France to find the sun but amazingly we've been able to use it in the UK too... in between snow showers!

Can I use a 12V DC power supply to charge Mavic air batteries?

Interesting stuff. We also run an auxiliary battery plus solar panels when camping "off grid" (mainly for the fridge to keep the beers cool!). I think the solar panel produces 13V+ to charge the AGM leisure batteries so hopefully when the sun is shining it should be possible to charge the mavic...

Can I use a 12V DC power supply to charge Mavic air batteries?

DJI sell a car charger that takes 12v from a car cigar lighter socket via a "black box" and costs around 40GBP. I would suspect that the box contains voltage regulators and other protective circuitry. What you've found appears to do away with the extra electronics. It will probably work but...

    HTC One M8

I have a lot of HTC phones, not tried the M8 yet but the old HTC 10 works OK and I'm currently running an HTC U12+ which isn't a "supported" phone but works beautifully.

How do I catch my Mavic Air in Mid-Air by hand?

This is the correct method. I've used a few times but don't make a habit of it. No grabbing and turning over!
