    Strobes lights for MP4

HeiyRC first flight update... I had these mounted to fly on my Mini 3 today. It was a gray day with some fog at higher altitudes. Highest altitude flown was 194ft. I think the fog limited my visual range to about 1300 ft, probably at 250ft high. Going out was interesting as I had the...

    Strobes lights for MP4

The HeiyRC strobes came in. I charged them up and did some initial side by side comparison in my living room. I have to say that the HeiyRC strobe is almost as bright with the clear strobes as the Firehouse Arc V. I think the only way to measure light output is with a constant beam (like a...

    Strobes lights for MP4

I will surely do that. FWIW On my minis I use the smaller Vifly Strobes, two (red) on front and one green on the rear so I can visually see the drones' orientation more clearly. It really helps to keep my head out of the screen. On the bottom I usually mount an ArcV that I know is larger and...

    Strobes lights for MP4

I must be the "King of Strobes" because I have a lot of them; a complete set for each of my 3 drones. Back 4 years ago Firehouse was pretty much the only game in town unless you want to include LumeCube. Expensive, but pretty good. But their strobes cost $25-$35 for a single strobe, until...

    Its been a minute

I've been absent for some time. I don't remember how long. A couple of hospital stays, lots of doctors appointments, just hanging back. Now we're in the artic... and now recovering from my first COVID experience. I dodged the bullet for almost 4 years but it caught up with me. But all...

Spontaneous stuck gimbal on Mini 3 pro! No idea how.

Well... It cost me $65 but I got a replacement under the "premium" C/R though I could have sent it for repair under warranty which would have taken much much much longer. They would have to first inspect it, diagnose the problem, repair it and ship it back. No word if they would replace it...

Spontaneous stuck gimbal on Mini 3 pro! No idea how.

Mercifully I took a 2 year C/R policy in July of 2022 when I bought the Mini 3. Everything was fine until Friday. I used it to take a few family photos, some photos of the new roof on my daughter's house and flew a bit with my grandson (up 200 AGL to avoid any obstacles as he controlled the...

    Mini 2 and Litchi. Awesome!

Which controller are you using? Perhaps try by starting with the Fly app, then just switching to Litchi. While not recommended, both apps can be open at the same time. Once you get connected you can quit Fly. Just a thought.

I give up. If I do it what will I gain?

I don't want to get too far off the reservation, but I see a growing distrust in government which is getting worse every day. We see institutions and agencies that not only don't obey their own rules, but make unreasonable rules for others. We have agencies that make rules that are taken as law...

    Propeller screws won't budge

I hadn't thought of that but is great advice. If the screw head is stripped this is pretty much your only option short of sending the whole thing to DJI. It is a known issue with Mini 3's that the screws are nearly impossible to remove, at least with the provided "toy" screw driver. I've...

I give up. If I do it what will I gain?

Thanks Rchawks. I was kind of put off by others' snarky comments. I wonder why people are prone to do that? Someone suggested I was lazy, and couldn't know that I was having "issues" (that I would be willing to disclose in PM's) that were preventing me from doing my own research. I guess...

I give up. If I do it what will I gain?

My Mini 3 Pro is still operating on legacy firmware. I have resisted updating because I had (and still have) objections to RID, how it is implemented and how exposed it can make a drone and pilot. But I guess I recognize that the inevitiable is inevitable and if RID becomes an issue for me I...

SDK POLL - Please go vote

Because DJI deemed it so. DJI does only what is in DJI's interest. Unless it is in DJI's interest to let others make money off of their platforms, it won't happen.

State Farm Personal Property insurance really came through for me after I crashed my drone. 65 dollars a year to get a payout of $600 for repairs.

It can work. Something to be aware of that DJI Care/Refresh has a limited time where you can only renew their insurance for a max of 2 years, I think. I have SF on my drones as well. But my Mavic 2 is now a legacy drone, not covered by DJI any longer after 2 years of premium payments and...

Why not more BUZZ on the Mavic 3 Classic?

There are pros and cons to the Classic 3 vs the original. It is interesting how that when we start to look at ND filters our perspective needs to shift a little bit as to how one element may help (the 2nd lens) vs how it might inject some complications in other ways.
