Ordered the Cine on launch day, originally scheduled for delivery on the 19th November to the UK, had an email this morning saying shipment will be delayed and here is a £10 coupon for the inconvenience 😂. I would imagine it's to do with the RC Pro. Gutting really as I had some jobs coming up...
This is very interesting. I am sure the different cameras will become available one way or another, but hopefully it will be as easy as this video shows.
That is what i get with jpegs, really terrible processing. I want to use jpeg for some timelapse work as RAW is too slow with only having 10second intervals but jpeg has terrible compression.
That looks like if sharpening is too high causing those artifacts, but wierdly when I did a 0 0 0 test recently it looks really over compressed like having a noise reduction and I had to use +1 to get any detail. I honestly cant believe how frustrating this is. I love the Mavic, I really dont...
Very interesting too. I am sure we will get to the bottom of it eventually. I was really happy with my settings the other day, thought I had nailed it, then yesterday morning tried in really good light, and it was over sharpened and full of artifacts. I am almost convinced there is something...
Is that with -1 sharpness too? this is so wierd, mine looks terrible with -1, but now it does make you wonder, does a slower shutter speed have an affect on the processing too if you say the mush apeared with an ND.
I am really happy now ive finally got some decent settings in line with what I was expecting with this sensor. I wasnt expecting better than the Phantoms but, I was expecting identical for sure. I honestly dont get who does their software developing, the difference between zero and +1 is like...
Totally agree. I was on the fence with whether I really need CinemaDNG using the x5r but the difference really is night and day when you compare, and I'll never look back. Their sensors are excellent, but their processing is terrible and really dumbs down what the sensors are capable of...
Ok a quick test in dull light, screengrabs from 4k footage at 100% crop, it seems Sharpness 0 and -1 and lower are awful (and showed identical results). +1 looks to be the most crisp, and +2 makes no difference. I also used Truecolour on this.
100% crops below, obviously compression is is...
Looks good, and a nice day too! I would remove the cover due to plastic also as I would imagine it would cause weird reflections. I always thought it was more for transport only. Nice to see footage of that Ferry, I have never filmed it and its always been a case of one day I will actually make...
Steve, what is frustrating is the sensor isnt the weak point not even the 60mbit compression for this to be happening, for some reason they have added some weird processing algorithm to the footage which makes it look like an oil painting, or just heavy use of noise reduction. Really is very...
This is an interesting point actually. I have noticed this too, all my really mushy footage is when it was a bit over cast, so does this now point to certain shutter speeds a noise reduction kicks in totally screwing up the footage.
Brent this must be a jpeg image then? This is another example which to me is saying there is some wierd noise reduction going on with non RAW images. Their processing for jpeg and h264 files is quite shocking at the moment. Considering its the same sensor as the x3, p3, and p4, you`d think they...
That does look bad... im starting to wonder if there is some kind of heavy noise reduction going on that isn't necessary. It is definitely not an issue with the sensor, as I have seen pre-production footage that looks superb, and 100% on par with the p3 or p4.
I am almost convinced now its bad...
