Adjustable ND Filters

Shops are closed now until mon for me to make enquiries about adjustable ND Filters. Can anyone give me any info about them in meantime. Thanks in anticipation.

That’s the easy part. The ND number is the reciprocal of the light reduction. 1/2 the light entering the lens is an ND2 (1 fstop). ND4 2 stops, ND8 3 stops- you should be able to keep going from here.

Anyone tried these? They are cheap & convenient. They’re optical glass according to the ad. Is the balance ok for the gimbal? (They’re not too heavy)

I've used variable ND filters on my DSLR with small success. The work by using two polarizing filters, one of which rotates. They don't work well with wide angle lenses, and their effectiveness varies with the lens direction relative to the sun. Might be worth trying, but I'd just go with standard ND filters myself.
