Hey everyone,

I was wondering if I was the only one with the battery cover like in the picture below. It's a brand new mini, just bought it yesterday. Just opened the cover and saw this. Should I return the product?

That particular piece ends up in the end of the battery. Should not affect the latch portion of the door. You could try to straighten it on your own to see if that will correct the issue.

It wouldn't affect the latch, but it pushes the sensor in on the back of the battery so the Mavic Mini knows the door is closed.

It appears to be broken.

It appears to be broken. Even though, it looks like it'll still work as expected since the left side is long enough to depress the battery sensor.
@msinger actually it fits in a cut out in the release latch on the battery it just prevents it from being lifted it should not have any effect on how the drone flies it looks like a slight mold error

No message that there is something amiss. Possibly because this one is on the .300 firmware?
As @old man mavic mentioned above, there doesn't seem to be a sensor there. I guess the idea was to prevent the battery clamp from being depressed mid-flight. I'm not sure how that would happen anyhow if the battery is properly snapped into place before taking off.

Can you drive to pick up another one? If it's that easy then switch it out. If it's a long way, I guess you'll have to figure out if you can live with it. Good luck which ever you do.

a good illustration if the battery is not locked then the little tab cannot fit in the cutout in the release part of the battery i tried it ,so its just a safety feature to prevent the battery door being closed if the battery is not correctly latched in place
