Battery life on new dji air 2s is not lasting more than 12 minutes

Are you flying on sports mode or in high winds?

In the DJI fly app have you looked at the battery information where it shows you how charged the battery is?

Also do you sync to AirData. If I recall it mentions battery strength under power.

.that's just your flight on the fly app.
You need to go to the drone settings when connected to the drone.

Airdata is another app. Sign up on the website then connect your dji account to the airdata app.

It will then sync your flight logs to airdata

I'm only getting around 20 mins myself

I just purchased a dji air 2s and I am not getting more than 14 minutes on a battery.

what am I doing wrong?
When you press on the button of the battery, does it have 4 lights? If so, how long has the battery sat since it was charged? These batteries self discharge, so if it has set for 2-3 days, then it's nowhere near full charge. I like to charge just prior to flying so that there is a full charge on them.

If you have done all the above and it still only has 14 minutes of flight time - then give DJI a call to maybe return it.

Other factors you want to observe is that you cannot nor should you want to get near full discharge. Typically the time to land / low battery warning hits about 4-5 minutes. That is to give you enough time to get back to home and land with preferably about 2 minutes left on the battery. Getting below that will harm the battery as it has discharged too far. Doing that many times will give the battery a short life span.

Even fully charged, my batteries show maybe 26-27 minutes flight time on start up. Depending on flying conditions / maneuvers / etc - the batteries can drain quite rapidly. Even in what many consider light winds - the batteries will discharge fast when heading into the wind as well. And what wind may be a ground level can be much higher at 200-400 feet. Apps like UAVForecast can tell you wind speeds at a prescribed level. I set mine for 250 ft as an average and you'd be amazed at the speeds there and if wind gusts are happening - may be at upper level for safe drone flights. Anything above 20 mph starts getting iffy real quick for an Air2 and downright critical for something like a Mini / Mini2.
