My Son uses FLICKR to host his photographs.

YouTube or Vimeo seem to be the places for video

There are so many ways! For my photos, which are all large files such as 25-35 MB, they are too large to mail, so I put them through Photoshop to reduce the file size. I try not to send files late than 1 MB, and most files are still ok at 700-900kb. With video, I subscribed to Vimeo free version (small monthly allowance in MB). Then went to lowest pay membership. Vimoe, I think, is higher quality than You Tube.

I use "Imgur to upload my big pictures or videos to then there are several options on which type of place you're using these pic's/video on, or to send to friends.
I don't change the size of the file when uploading.
