Will be on the Big Island in March for 10 days and wanted to get some coastal lava flow video. I read that Isaac Hale Beach park is now open so I've checked flight maps there and it seems to be ok to fly there. I'd also like to know if there is anyway to go further up the coast to the Kapoho tidepool area for some footage. I've checked several maps I regularly use for NFZ and all show clear but would appreciate any insight on what might be a good place to fly or who to contact for permission, etc.

Wherever you fly over there, be on constant alert for sightseeing helicopters.

I only plan on flying 100-150' so I don't think it should be a problem.

Send me a private message. I'll put you in touch with my cousin. He's in Pahoa and loves to fly.
