So why was the train running backwards?

I thought he could have reversed the film but many times with our Metro link system the trains run that way. Could be to protect the engineers from witnessing the idiots who walk along the tracks to a bad ending.
There is Jogger pushing a carriage in the shot indicating it's not reversed.
