Hi All,

I'm giving my drone, a mini SE to a friend. She lives quite far away so in person delivery is not possible. I will have to mail it to her. What bothers me is the battery. It can get pretty cold up here in Canada and I'm wondering if there is anything special I should do to protect said battery? Any suggestions, advice?

Once it warms up to room temps you should be OK.

I would just pack up the drone and battery in it’s original packaging. Batteries are shipped all the time by major carriers, you just have to tell them - whether it’s Canada Post or any of the other major couriers- that the package contains Lithium Ion batteries and they will give you a label to affix to the package to alert the carrier. Other than that you shouldn’t have to worry about cold as carriers store packages in heated buildings.

Good luck.

DJI probably ships drones to Canada every day. I've never heard of any issues receiving drones in cold locations.
